Proposed New 1200 ft. Graving Dock
at Hongkong.
With further reference to the interview Bir Paul 'Chater
and the writer had with you last Thursday, we beg to put the
following forward for your consideration;-
1. The proposed dimensions of this Dock are 1200 x 1301
x 40' draft of water on the sill in accordance with the plans
Thich are already in the possession of your Department, We are
prepared to consider any reasonable alteration in the dimensions
or equipment which you may propose.
2. This Deck when completed will be the largest in the
World, and when taken in conjunction with our very finely equipped
Mtablishments and other dry docks, will make it of great value
